  • Catering / Kitchen Manager

We are looking for a Catering / Kitchen Manager who will have a heart for cooking and providing wholesome, nutritious home-made food on a daily basis to our family of residents. The successful individual will also manage the team of Hospitality Assistants.  Part of the role will be to arrange the weekly rotas, training and supervisions as well as managing the kitchen and dining areas at the home, including all required paperwork.

The role is on a 37.5 hour contract and the individual will be required to work one weekend shift a week and to be cooking during the shifts.

You must be over 18 years of age to apply for this role and you must have undertaking (evidence to be provided) or be willing to have a full course of Covid-19 vaccinations, unless medically exempt.

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience of cooking for over 30 people is essential
  • A Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC), NVQ 3 in practical cookery and Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Certificates (minimum level 2)

Parkside benefits from being staffed from a pool of about 25 carers – a mixture of full time, part time and bank staff. Our staff are trained to a high standard meeting all regulatory requirements.

We also have volunteers, who regularly come in to the home to help in a wide variety of ways such as serving mid-morning drinks, talking and playing games with the residents, helping in the garden and running social events.

We interview all prospective volunteers to ensure those who do help are well matched to the home’s ethos and our residents’ needs.

We maintain full DBS checks on the whole team, both paid staff and volunteers.
